Wellington Equestrian Preservation Alliance Announces WinterFest 2011 Sponsorship

Wellington, FL - December 1, 2011 - The Wellington Equestrian Preservation Alliance is pleased to announce its sponsorship of Wellington's WinterFest 2011. Through this major sponsorship the Alliance is looking forward to the opportunity to bring holiday cheer, and support the community. Thousands attended the event last year to enjoy the musical performance of local musical celebrity, philanthropist and DIY Network television star "Vanilla Ice" who will return this year to once again entertain the crowds.

"We are very honored and happy to be able to support this event," said Mat Forrest, Executive Director of the Alliance. "WinterFest provides a big boost to our community spirit and is a big part of what makes Wellington unique."

The International Polo Club Palm Beach, The Wellington Chamber of Commerce and The City of Wellington have worked together to host this event, inviting local dignitaries such as Wellington Mayor Darell Bowen and News Channel 5 Anchor Roxanne Stein. The event will kick-off with the time-honored event of the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, featuring the holiday sounds of local performing artists and the festive routines of local dance troupes.

The Wellington Equestrian Preservation Alliance along with the other sponsors of WinterFest 2011 encourage everyone to participate in the equestrian themed event which highlights a wide range of community and business partnerships. Forrest added that the Alliance is very enthusiastic about the level of community involvement in WinterFest 2011. "It encompasses an equestrian theme and involves the entire community of Wellington," Forrest said. "Plus it's a great way for the residents of Wellington to learn more about the Equestrian Alliance and our commitment to protect the economy and the way of life in this great community."

Forrest referenced the effort, launched recently by the Alliance, to protect the Equestrian Preserve from over development and stated "We have been contacted by many residents that are growing more and more concerned about the future of our City and especially some of the developments that have been proposed in our community. This event will help us foster community pride and organize those concerned citizens who want to preserve Wellington for everyone."

The Wellington Equestrian Preservation Alliance is working to protect the Wellington Equestrian Preserve and the Wellington equestrian industry. The top priorities of the group are to maintain the character of Wellington's Equestrian lifestyle-a lifestyle that has for decades attracted investment and established a key economic base in Wellington.

The City of Wellington and the Alliance work hand-in-hand to ensure that proper support is given towards developments and events within the equestrian community that also conform to the applicable elements of the City's Comprehensive Plan and Equestrian Overlay District।

The event will be held December 2, 2011 from 6 pm-9 pm at the Wellington Amphitheatre. Admission is free for the event, and everyone is welcome to come out and participate.
